This spetacular walk encapsulates the essence of Brava: the remote valley hamlet of Sorno making miraculous use of its little stream to farm extensive green terraces up the mountainsides; the vivid, slightly menacing sea; the barren mountains; the ghost villages that are tetament to livelier times, and periodically, big brother Fogo Island looming from across the sea.

Check-out from the Inn at 8.30am for a walking tour of Vila Nova Sintra, discovering Eugenio Tavares Square. We continue by car to Covadela, Mato Grande, Miradouro de Levadura and the mountain village of Nossa Senhora do Monte, offering superb views. Descent to the fishing village of Fajã d'Água with several viewpoints. Free time in the natural pools before lunch. You will also see the old airport of Brava and its 250 m runway. After lunch by the sea, visit the grog distillery Cova do Touro, where the famous grog "Djarbi" is produced, followed by a tasting. Return to Vila Nova Sintra around 4pm.
