Setting off from Douglas we head north to Laxey and visit the famous Lady Isabella Water Wheel - onto King Orrys Grave for our first taste of one of the Islands Neolithic sites. Then to Maughold Church - Ramsey - St Johns and Tynwald Hill. Peel with its Castle and House of Mannanan museum. Niarbyl then over the mountain of South Barrule down to the Calf Sound - Cregneash folk village - Castle Rushen and return to Douglas over the Fairy Bridge

This tour is for visitors to the Isle of Man who would like a day out seeing as much as possible. Due to time constraints we do not go into sites other than outdoor heritage sites which have no entry charges. Most of the sites can be self guided although I am quite willing to guide in them. I am a qualified blue badge guide with an operators licence to drive visitors around the island, fully insured with public liability. Although a set tour has been set up I am quite happy to adjust the tour to suit the visitors needs.

Travelling along some of the world-famous TT course, we'll also visit famous landmarks including the most beautiful southerly point of the Island, The Sound, while enjoying plentiful stunning scenery and fabulous views. Nikki my wife is a proud Manxie, a Kermode by birth. Her ancestors date back to the 1600's. She has a vast knowledge on the island and is excellent at find graves. Being a grave digger's daughter she's also dug a few. It can be tricky trying to decipher the hand writing in many of the Island's records, thankfully Nikki is good at this and with her knowledge it's much quicker. Plus she has resources to hand and we sometimes find that she has already research a family in the past. If you're looking for accommodation we can arrange this too, either at our Inn / Bed and Breakfast Albany House or some where local. Price is additional.

Depending on the season various bird species can be seen including Gannets, Curlew, Skylark, and Tern colonies, along with marine wildlife, like Atlantic Seals. We will explore some of our protected and rare habitats such as the Ayres National Nature Reserve with its distinctive landscape of shingle, sand dunes and beautiful lichen heath where a number of Orchids grow. From Victorian Douglas we will head north along the coast road, stopping at Laxey an old mining town that is home to one of the most spectacular water wheels in the world. A visit to Laxey Woolen Mills where the weaver makes Manx Tartan and other tweeds on looms that are powered by man, before heading for King Orry's Grave, a neolithic burial site A visit to the site of the first monastery at Maughold on the island founded in 550 and the site of many of our ancient crosses that were carved by Celts and Vikings. A short visit through the town of Ramsey takes us north to the Point of Ayre and the flat glacial plains of the island taking in the small churches and villages along the way. After a lunch break a q burst of adrenaline, following the famous TT course to Peel, with its castle, cathedral, marina and old fishing cottages is a delightful place to stop before heading for St Johns and Tynwald Hill: a four-tiered hill which is of the Island's most distinctive landmarks.

This tour is designed for those of you who are visiting the Isle of Man for family history and genealogy. This will include the family history with research before your visit, as well as a tour of parts of the island that your family lived in, together with visits to churches where they may have been baptised, married or buried. I have an accreditation for genealogy research with Strathclyde University through Future Learn and I am on a list of researchers maintained by the Manx Museum library. A sightseeing tour of the Isle of Man: We will start the tour in the capital city of Douglas, where we will visit the Victorian Promenade and gardens and the Bee Gees memorial statue. We will then visit Castletown Square—the island's historic capital. here you will see Castle Rushen—a medieval castle built in the 16th century Then we will take a short break at Cregneash/Sound Café; food and drink can be purchased for a small fee We will then visit Peel, a small fishing town on the West Coast. here there will be a small coastal walk with a chance to try some of the island's cuisine, Queenies On the way back, visit Tynwald Hill, the home of the Manx Parliament, then the Laxey Wheel, and then you will be dropped back at the Isle of Man Sea Terminal. There may be some free time to explore the town center.
